LED-Curable Adhesive with Encompass® Technology for Difficult-to-Bond Plastics


LED curable MD® 215-CTH-SV01-UR-SC catheter adhesive is ideal for bonding next-generation catheter designs using Nylon 12, PEBA, and other difficult to bond substrates. It’s formulated with Encompass® technology that combines the color change benefits of Dymax See-Cure with Ultra-Red® fluorescing for visual verification in all stages of production. The bright blue color aids in verification of material placement and transitions to colorless upon exposure to sufficient light energy, indicating full cure has been achieved. The bright red fluorescence contrasts extremely well on plastics that naturally fluoresce blue in color (like PVC), and assists with post-cure visual inspection of the bond area.

The adhesive is LED optimized to cure at 385 nm and meets a variety of ISO 10993 biocompatibilty approvals. Typical applications include the assembly of hub to lumen, manifold bond joints, and balloon to lumen.

Dymax MD® Medical Device Adhesives contain no nonreactive solvents and cure upon exposure to light. Their ability to cure in seconds enables faster processing, greater output, and lower processing costs. When cured with Dymax UV light curing spot lamps, focused beam lamps, flood lamps, or conveyor systems they deliver optimum speed and performance for maximum efficiency. Dymax lamps offer the optimum balance of UV and visible light for the fastest, deepest cures. 215-CTH-SV01-UR-SC catheter adhesive is in full compliance with the RoHS2 Directives 2015/863/EU.
