Director Supply Chain, Global (m/f/d)

Lead the attainment of global operational and profitability targets by directing the Supply Chain and Operational Planning (S&OP) departments in activities that optimize regional production facilities, inventory levels, service rates, and lead times to customers, and by continually improving, growing, and balancing regional Supply initiatives. We seek a results-focused, innovative, customer-centric, well-qualified individual to join our talented team. Based from our Wiesbaden location you will also act as Regional Managing Director for Europe. As a member of the extended global senior leadership team, you will be responsible for company compliance, plant safety and daily leadership of the regional facilities, ensuring employee alignment with globally matrixed functions.

About the Job:

  • Optimize global Supply Chain plans that support company growth by designing and leading a multi-year strategy that maximizes service, while delivering on costs, material availabilities and contingencies
  • Develop innovative, customer-advocating, high-performing regional teams through leading by example, fostering teamwork and delivering strong leadership and judgment to acquire, proactively develop and coach talented, action-oriented Supply Chain and S&OP leaders
  • Establish key contracts and supply agreements with key material suppliers by proactively identifying risk in the global raw
    material supply base and developing and overseeing plans to ensure that portfolio needs are covered
  • Achieve targeted inventory cost reductions and efficiencies through effective planning and forecasting of our inventory including managing inventory levels and turns while minimizing obsolescence, scrap, aged inventories and hence inventory reserves
  • Continuously improve strategic processes to support the global business needs by developing effective internal tools related to forecasting, inventory levels and demand management
  • Establish, develop, update, and monitor KPIs for the Global Supply Chain by measuring critical points across the value chain between suppliers and customers in form, fit, function, pricing and on-time delivery requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholder departments by proactively reaching out to and
    influencing top executives, directors and senior managers, both internally and externally
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Supply Chain practices
  • Develop and execute business plans and multi-year Supply Chain plans that identify trends, benchmarks, opportunities for marketplace advantage and link them into global business strategies
  • Ensure company compliance with local laws and regulations and manage the daily operations in the region by ensuring coordination, alignment and engagement with strategic initiatives and within matrixed functions
  • Exercise due care and diligence as a prudent businessperson in the region. Ensuring legal compliance i.e. by signing tax returns, local contracts, legal documents and other filings in accordance with company standards and practices

About you:

  • Professional Management or University degree, such as an MBA, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or similar
  • 10+ years in progressive operations management experience in process manufacturing company
  • This experience should also include time in Purchasing, Production & Inventory Control and direct experience of supervising both management and clerical employees globally
  • 5+ years of in-depth product stewardship, HazMat, and related regulations
  • Certifications such as IBF, APICS, Oliver Wright designations or similar preferred
  • Significant experience in ERP/MRP usage; JD Edwards E1 preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage cross-functional international teams essential
  • Proven track record implementing process improvement
  • Financial analysis experience with an understanding of financial statements and cost accounting
  • Travel up to 25%, mostly international
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in German and English
