High Speed, High Volume Syringe Assembly

MD® needle bonding adhesives are ideal for high-speed, high-volume automated syringe assembly lines that incorporate inline testing and packaging. The products are ISO 10993 approved and bond “on demand” at room temperature when exposed to UV and/or visible light energy. Their ability to cure with visible light allows for bonding of UV-blocking or heavily tinted plastics.

Solvent-free and single component, the adhesives also fluoresce blue or red for in-line testing and inspection. Their fluorescing properties enhance the performance of automated sensing and vision systems, for easy detection of material coverage and volume. Needle bonding adhesives formulated with Encompass® technology combine Dymax patented See-Cure and Ultra-Red® fluorescing technologies into one product for easy cure confirmation, as well as high-speed automated inspection.

Low wicking, LED curable, and moisture-resistant materials are available and also come in a wide range of product viscosities for design flexibility. Applications include bonding cannulas to hubs in various hypodermic and biopsy needles, syringes, and winged infusion sets. These needle bonders adhere to a wide variety of plastics and metals, as well as glass substrates and are compatible with gamma, EtO, and E-Beam sterilization.
