The MD® “CTH” line of light-curable catheter adhesives provides reliable cost-saving assembly solutions for device manufacturers. ISO 10993 approved and compatible with gamma, EtO, and E-Beam sterilization, the products meet the unique assembly challenges associated with the newest catheter materials. In addition, the materials are RoHS compliant and one component, so mixing is not required.

Dymax solvent-free catheter bonders feature excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates and a high degree of flexibility, as well as fast cure speeds for consistent, low-stress assembly. Many of the materials have non-flowing viscosities, impact resistance, and also form very good bonds to Nylon 12 and PEBA

Some formulations feature See-Cure, Ultra-Red®, or Encompass® technology. Adhesives with See-Cure start out bright blue in color for visual verification of material placement, and transition to colorless upon sufficient exposure to light energy, indicating full cure. To accommodate high-speed automated inspection processes, many of the products fluoresce red or blue. Catheter adhesives with Ultra-Red fluoresce bright red, even on plastics that normally fluoresce blue, enabling easy inline quality inspection. Encompass® technology combines Dymax patented See-Cure and Ultra-Red technologies into one product for easy confirmation of material placement and cure, as well as post-cure bond-line inspection.

Materials with secondary heat-cure capability for shadow areas, multipurpose adhesives for plastics and metals, and LED-curable formulations are also available. Bondable substrates include stainless steel, ABS, nitinol, PA, glass, aluminum, polyurethane, as well as polycarbonate, and many more.
