Medical Device Adhesives and Coatings
Fast Light-Cure Assembly of Medical Disposable Devices
MD® medical device adhesives and coatings cure in seconds upon exposure to UV/Visible light for fast assembly of medical disposable devices. The materials are 100% solvent free and are also certified to USP Class VI and ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards.
The light-curable products form clear, high-strength bonds to metal, medical plastics, and glass, as well as UV-inhibited and tinted plastics. MD medical adhesives are also compatible with gamma, EtO, and E-Beam sterilization. Ultra-Red® and blue fluorescing materials enable easy quality inspection with automated vision equipment, for high-speed, high-volume production. MD products formulated with Encompass® technology combine Dymax patented See-Cure and Ultra-Red fluorescing technologies into one product for easy visual verification of material placement, cure, and quality inspection.
Medical-grade adhesives and coatings are used to assemble:
- Reservoirs and Housings
- Needles and Syringes
- Medical Electronics
- Tube sets and Fittings
- Other Medical Devices
- Airway Management Devices, Facemasks, and also Breathing Circuits
Protect Orthopaedic Components During Surface Finishing with SpeedMask® Maskants
A line of SpeedMask® removable maskants, for temporary protection of substrates during surface treatment processes, cures in seconds with UV/Visible light. Safely protect orthopaedic implants such as knee replacements and hip stems, medical devices, and surgical instruments during grit blasting, anodizing, plating, and powder coating, as well as wire arc spray, HVOF, and shot peening. Apply the maskant, cure it, treat the component surface, and remove the cured material in four easy steps. Products formulated with See-Cure technology are also available.
Dymax adhesives, coatings, and maskants formulated with Encompass® technology start out bright blue when dispensed onto substrates, for simple visual confirmation of product placement. When exposed to sufficient light energy, the materials change from blue to colorless, providing visual indication of full cure. Products with Encompass technology also fluoresce bright red under low-intensity black light, to enhance quality inspection processes and product authentication. As a result, manufacturers gain efficiencies from rapid on-demand curing with easy cure confirmation and post-cure bond-line inspection.
