Dual-cure 9014 encapsulant is formulated to cure primarily with UV light and includes a secondary moisture curing function for applications where shadow areas exist on printed circuit boards. Curing in seconds upon exposure to UV light energy, the product increases manufacturing efficiency because assembled parts can quickly move to the next step in production. This new formulation is also room-temperature stable, eliminating the need for cold shipping and storage.

High Performance Conformal Coating with Secondary Moisture Cure


Dual-cure 9483 is a solvent-free conformal coating that cures tack-free upon exposure to UV/Visible light and then with ambient moisture over time, on PCBs where shadow areas are present. The product also fluoresces bright blue under low intensity UV «black» light (365 nm) for visual inspection of the coating coverage.

9483 is easily applied from 2-8 mils (0.002″ – 0.008″) thick to meet the requirements of most automotive PCB designs. The material exhibits excellent corrosion and chemical resistance as well as excellent thermal cycling properties. Dual-Cure PC and ABS Plastic Bonder

Dual-Cure 3401 plastic adhesive adheres to a wide variety of plastic and metal substrates and is ideally suited for PC and ABS bonding applications.  The product cures with UV/Visible light and then secondary ambient moisture for components with shadow areas. The material provides superior bond strength, is moisture and thermal resistant, and also has low shrinkage. For ease of in-line quality inspection, 3401 fluoresces blue under low-intensity black light (365 nm).

The coating flows underneath components on printed circuit boards into shadow areas, and cures with light first, then over time with ambient moisture. For easy visual inspection of the coating coverage, the product fluoresces blue under low intensity UV «black» light (365 nm).

9482 is engineered for superior circuit protection in applications requiring coating thicknesses up to 0.254 mm (0.010 in). The material has excellent re-workability and thermal cycling properties. Applications include conformal coating of electronic assemblies for the automotive, general/consumer electronics, and appliance, as well as military equipment manufacturing industries. In addition, the product meets IPC-CC-830B, UL 746-E, and MIL-I-46058C standards.

It’s specifically formulated to ensure complete cure in applications where shadow areas on high-density printed circuit boards are a concern. The coating flows underneath components into shadow areas and cures over time with ambient moisture. The product fluoresces vivid blue when exposed to UV light (365 nm) for easy inspection of coating coverage. 9481-E also features a low viscosity for easy dispensing.

This product is optimized for coating thicknesses between 25 mic [0.001 in] and 127 mic [0.005 in] and excels in coating applications where chemical and abrasion resistance is critical. The material also has MIL-I-46058C, IPC-CC-830B, and UL 746-E approvals.
